Playing house

I love that apron she's wearing - I'll have to make myself one I think!.
I think I might be going a little retro. When Mr Marmadaisy asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I said this.

In my defence, it was mainly for the dough blade so I can make bread whilst doing something else (multitasking, anyone?) although it also has a very super dooper looking balloon whisk. We've also ordered a juice extractor and grater/chopper/slicer attachment. I know, I really need to get out more.

On the subject of which, several people have asked what the plan is for my birthday weekend. It's very exciting actually (yes, even more so than a new food mixer, if you can believe it) we are going out with friends for a meal and we have hired a stretch limo for the evening. We did the same thing for my 30th and it was brilliant. Of course, being the birthday girl I had to fall out of the limo clutching a (empty) magnum of champagne and singing "yes sir, I can boogie" at the top of my voice. I promise not to get so drunk this year. It's far too unseemly at my age.

Don't forget to enter my birthday prize draw to win something lovely.

If someone had told us at school that the pair of us would be so "50's housewife" by the time we reached this age I think our feminist principles might just have exploded on the spot! Funny how life turns out.

From fighting the "you-can't-stop-me-from-wearing-trousers-to-school-just-because-I'm-a-girl-that's-discrimination" fight to channelling Martha Stewart in only 1.5 decades. Bizarre. xMx

D'you know I was only thinking the same thing this morning as I was looking for a fudge recipe!!!

It is strange, but lovely to see how we've found these lovely, contented lifestyles. Personally I love it, cakes and cross stitch 'N' all!!!

V V Jealous of your fancy new mixer - I have my heart set on a pink (of course!) Kitchen Aid.

Oh that Kenwood is gorgeous. You'll have fun with that!

I can hardly remember when I last had a gift from dh that wasn't a gadget. Just today he went into town and bought me an external hard drive. It could have been a diamond ring I was so very excited!
